Known as Cashintransit
on Social networks. A Mathematician cum publicist and an event strategist. He
got shaped by his environment and driven by what he hopes to achieve.
Ajele Owolabi, an indigene of Ondo State (in Nigeria), grew
up in the grungy Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State. He attended Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba, Ondo
State, and bagged a Bachelors degree in Industrial Mathematics. As an
undergraduate, he gained fame through his dance skills, as a member of The Body
Shakers, a dance group he co-founded back in school.
Recognized as one to watch in showbiz and entertainment
circles, Cashintransit was invited to join the team at ‘DÉJÀ VU’ magazine as an entertainment correspondent and to handle
music reviews. His involvement in the production of this magazine honed his
writing abilities, and after graduation he set up his own blog, alongside
freelancing for Slyk and Distinct magazines. The success of his blog and the
far-reaching effect of the reportage created a deep-seated vigor for media further
gave him much exposure on the inner-workings of entertainment and media and
what it takes to grow in this field.
Cashintransit has helped nurture many upcoming artistes in
his capacity as a talent manager; giving them advice on where their strength
should lie in terms of their career, and how they should go about the publicity
of their intellectual property.
Following this endeavour, and aiding in the development of
numerous artistes, he felt a need to grow and expand his repertoire, he thus left Nigeria for South Africa to
acquire more knowledge on Public Relations. In a bid to become a full
professional in his field, Cashintransit obtained his Diploma in Public
Relations from University of South
Africa (UNISA) in 2013. Aside
the blog in his name, he set up another blog that deals with majorly South
African content, named “ChitChat Mzansi”,
run with the help of his colleagues in various Universities and colleges within
Gauteng.
Cashintransit handles PR and Image management for Bombshelter Entertainment (South
Africa), DJ Sulex (Pretoria’s Number one DJ), MC Ajele (Africa’s funniest
comedian), and Young Millionaire Entertainment (Rosebank, Johanesburg), among
others.
His line of work encompasses Celebrity Procurement, Graphics
Design, Events, Promotions and PR. He was the PR for Pretoria Music Awards 2013, now part of the organizers of #turnUPthursdays in Pretoria, and Industry Night (South Africa), which
will debut soon. He is currently the graphics designer for Moloko (Hatfield, Pretoria). He has partnered with different
entertainment practitioners to set up gigs at various spots in Pretoria. His
latest project is MAZZINGAR, one of
the contestants in “STAR THE WINNER IS”;
whose music Video is currently experiencing heavy rotation on SoundCity and
other local stations across Nigeria.
